Indigenous Kirat/Kirant/Kiranti is one of the first settler people of Nepal. These peoples were ruled in Nepal valley in the ancient period. According to the Kirat history 6000 A.D those people have developed Kirat civilization, cultures, tradition, nature worshipers, and completely relation with nature with the race of mongoloid people which relate with their land and history. Kiriyat, Kirijyat, Kereti, Kirat Asur, Khomboja, Yawan, Pallawab(Parsian), Pursika(persian), Parad(Balikhaj), Kiranta(Asurian), Khasa, Kichhak, Parbate(Parbatak), Saaka Kirantaa, Pulinda, Tangsangthan, Mangol, Munafence, Hajara, Samba Asur, Banasur, Yalamba, Kirantaa sur(Palambha), Gandarbha, Mlheechhya, Aashawa kanta(Kabul), Kullya(Kulu), Keenner Kirat(Garawal), Yaven(Greek) and Saaka(Sathiyan) are the ancestors. which carried great civilization Bahing, Kulung, Thulung, Chamling, Nachhiring, Khaling, Yamphu, Mewahang, Sampang, Bantawa, Lohorung, Jerung, Tilung, Dewan, Aathapaharia, Wambule, Koyu, Puma, Chhiling, Dumi, Sunuwar(Koich),Danuwar, Done, Jirel, Hayu, Surel, Thami, Limbu, Dhimal, Tharu, Yakkha, Meche, Koche, Bodo, Koch, Newar, Tripura, Rago, Rava, Dimasa, Khamer, Khasi, Lepcha, Drakpa, Hajra, Belharia,Mewahang, Lohorung and Rong are different identities Kirats. 

They have their languages, cultures, traditions, and Lands. Historically the Kirat Territory is divided into WALLO KIRAT, MID-KIRAT, and PALLO-KIRAT. These Three Kitat lands are Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Bhajpur, Sankhuwasava, Teplejung, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Ilam, Morang, Jhapa, Udayapur, Sunsari, Dolakha, and Ramechhap districts. History says that Lichhabies from the south invaded Kathamandu valley and drove away from the Kirat rulers of the valley. The Kirats move towards the east of the valley and established Kirat territories in all areas in the east of the valley. Since then, they have been living in the eastern sectors of present Nepal. They have undergone many political Changes since their establishment of Kirat Territories; however, they are still found to have protected their unique languages and cultural heritage.

YALAMBER, STHUNGKO, JITEDASTI & GASTI are Kirat King Ancestors of these Indigenous Kirat peoples. Descendents of these ancestors are distributed worldwide and are living in different parts of the world like India, Bhutan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Britain, America, Burma, Sikkim, Japan, Thailand, etc., Indonesia, Cambodia, and Malesia, apart from Nepal. According to population size, the Population census 2012 shows only 6,64,000 population of these Indigenous people even if there was a saying of nine lakhs(900,000) Kirats since the ancient period in Nepal. This Indigenous Kirat is supposed to be living in this Land six thousand years ahead of the regime of the first Kirat King Yalamber, who ruled 9 thousand years ago. Yalamber(Yele)Sambat has 5082 years-long histories of Kirat civilization. There were 4 ancestors called Magrukpa the ancestor of Magar, Thagrukpa the ancestor of Tharu, Gurukpa the ancestor of Gurung, and Yagrukpa ancestor of limbu & Khambus. Their descendent

Bahing, Kulung, Jerung, Nachharing, Khaling, Thulung, Thami, Sunuwar, Puma, Koyu, Yamphu, Lohorung, Chamling, Bantwa, Mewahang, Lohorung, Wambule, Hayu, Dewan, Dumi, Jirel, Tharu, Newar, Gurung, Magar, Dawnur, Done, Tilung, Limbu, Yakkha, Dhimal and Aathpahariya are different existent indigenous peoples in Kirat civilization.
Federation of Indigenous Kirat Association (FIKA) (Adabasi Kirat Mahasang) is a non-governmental social organization established in 2007(2064 B.S) with its central office at Kathmandu on 26 Baisakh 2064, with registration no: 1162 and also has been affiliated to Social Welfare Council. It is an umbrella organization of different representative organizations of Kirats Indigenous peoples established with the main objective of uniting all the Indigenous Kirat Communities to raise their voices about collective issues collaboratively and protect and promote the cultural tradition, and language, of different Kirat peoples who have been marginalized from political, social, economic Cultural & ethnical development since long time back.
